Financial and investment challenges in the construction of solar energy projects in Iran and providing solutions to reduce or eliminate them

Abstract :
Nowadays using green energy, and in particular solar power is expanding and considering in most Asian countries. However, there is a wide spectrum of challenges and barriers regarding establishing and manipulating these projects. Among all these barriers, financial ones have a key role. Financial and investment climate determine whether countries begin using solar power or continue using pollutant energy resources, such as fossil fuels. On the other hand, nonrenewable energy resources are economically and environmentally unstable. One of the most important barriers to the way of establishment of solar power projects is the bank's domination of financing and funding projects in Iran. Also the stock market hasn't developed so much that could help fund new solar power projects in Iran. Banks are the main source of financing, for large-scale projects. Another important issue is investment in renewable energy projects is considered risky and investors usually have little motivation to enter this field. Renewable energy projects have a lower rate of return compared to conventional energy projects. We have tried to recognize these financial challenges in Iran and Asian countries, and then introduce solutions to reduce or eliminate the barriers to reach a better environmental, social, and economic state for the country region continent finally the whole world.
